Smith's teams have consistently produced an effective, durable pitching staff thanks to the program and drills outlined in this video. His program includes weight training and plyometric exercises to increase flexibility/fitness and a 'progressive throwing program' (flat ground to mound) to increase arm strength. The preseason pitching drills presented include game-like situation pitching drills and a series of drills to develop arm strength and improve mechanics. A great video to aid increasing performance while decreasing chances of injury! (1999. 60 minutes)

To improve your pitcher's velocity and placement on every pitch, Collazo presents drills that will help develop 'total body control'. The drills included will aid in strength development in the upper and lower extremities and will help develop sound mechanics (consistent balance, stride, delivery) for right and left handed pitchers. (1999. 41 minutes)

Maximizing the Fastball with Steve Dryer, former Texas Ranger pitcher

This video is full of great information for improving the more sophisticated mechanics of fastball delivery and placement. Tips are provided for maximizing extension upon release, improving arm speed through extension, controlling location, and developing an effective pitch variety. Instruction includes a towel drill to improve extension and arm speed and grips to develop movement on both a 2-seam and 4-seam fastball. Great for any pitcher or team looking to improve upon fastball mechanics! (1999. 41 minutes)

The Power Curve Ball with Jamey Shouppe, Florida State University Pitching Coach

FSU's program is consistently among the top programs in collegiate baseball. One of the 'weapons' that FSU has mastered is the 'power' curveball. Unlike your typical curve ball, the power curve begins in the strike zone and tails down and away; it combines 12-6 rotation with fastball-like speed! Shouppe shares the drills used daily at FSU practices that will help your pitching staff develop a consistent, effective power curve! (1999. 49 minutes.)

Fielding for Pitchers with Steve Dryer, former Texas Ranger pitcher

Dreyer teaches the fundamentals for being a great infielder while on the pitching mound. Proper techniques and responsibilities for fielding ground balls, bunted balls, and covering first base when the ball is hit directly to the first baseman are covered. Pick-off moves to first and second base and methods for keeping the runner from getting a comfortable lead are discussed and demonstrated. Using the instruction of this former Texas Ranger will provide you and your team with the necessary fundamentals to improve the fielding skills of your pitching staff! (1999, 57 minutes)

Contact Hitting and Plate Coverage with Mitch Thompson, Baylor University Hitting Coach

This video is great for helping coaches teach their players to put the ball in play. (1999. 48 minutes)

Power Hitting Drills with 'Turtle' Thomas, Louisiana State University coach

Do you need a player who can open up a game with one swing of the bat? Do you wish your team's batting average could see marked improvement the next season? In this video, Thomas shares body mechanics tips and the drills needed to help your players maximize their swing power and efficiency. Included are critical drills to improve balance, triggering, rotation, and follow-through during a 'power swing'. Pitch-read drills will help players learn to hit from the 'inside of the plate out', wait for their pitch, and read pitch rotation. (1999. 55 minutes)

Bunting Drills and Techniques with Mark Wasikowski, Hitting Coach, University of Florida

Finally! An instructional tape on the critical technique of bunting! Coach Wasikowski provides great instruction to help you prepare your team for those strategic situations! Proper lower and upper body mechanics are demonstrated to teach players how to control any bunt (sacrifice, drag, or squeeze). Drills included in this video will allow you to teach batters to bunt the ball into correct 'anes' in the infield. Steals are also covered from each base including fakes and delays. Thomas also teaches skills for tagging, avoiding a double play, and reading balls (in the dirt vs. line drives). Ground ball mechanics are taught including approach, fielding position, and foot position for proper throw. Ground ball drills follow a progression from stationary ball, to slow rollers, then finishing with balls hit with a fungo bat. Ground ball drills include balls hit into the glove, balls hit to the infielder's right, and to their left. Specialty drills focus on developing good hands and feet through rapid catch and throw simulations, fielding ground balls from kneeling position, and short-hop drills. (1999. 56 minutes)
